Civil Site Plans
RHC is providing the civil engineering scope of work on projects that include the following tasks: developing and drafting substation expansion civil site plans; designing and drafting drainage, erosion and sediment control plans; and developing retaining wall plans.

Curb, Ramp, ADA & Roundabout Designs
RHC's civil engineers have extensive experience in designing curbs, ramps and other ADA features across Washington State. RHC is currently working on street restoration, including curbs and ADA ramps, for a six-unit development project. Other relevant curb, ramp, ADA and roundabout design projects include:

WSDOT SR 520 Westside Corridor

RHC's contribution to the SR 520 project included designing curbs and ramps; developing traffic control plans to support the West Approach Bridge construction; incorporating noise variance and geotechnical information into the basemap; developing Street Use permits and right of entry for the geotechnical field work;

developing right of way boundary and limited access proposals; documenting record of survey for right of way; parcel development and access hearing plans; performing existing utility research and layout; developing Street Use permit application plans; managing right of way and record of survey data; and developing public hearing and ESA support plans.

SDOT Post Avenue Bridge Removal
The removal of the existing Post Avenue Bridge and the construction of new pavement on the deep soft soil near Seattle's waterfront could have impacted the adjacent buildings' structural safety due to the existing soft soil being under new overburden loads. RHC managed and led the structural engineering and
geotechnical engineering services for this curbs and ramps reconstruction project. The scope of work included evaluating the existing historical masonry building structures, proposing pavement reconstruction procedures and coordinating with the geotechnical subconsultant.

Roadway & Path Alignment Designs
WSDNR Lower High Point Bridge Replacement Design

The civil engineering scope of work included establishing alignment and profile design while incorporating GIS basemap data. The bridge alignment was finalized based on overcoming the topography and geotechnical constraints.
SDOT Ship Canal Crossing Study

On this project, RHC studied two options of pedestrian and bicycle shared-use bridges in order to improve the West Seattle multimodal transportation and pedestrian experience over the Ship Canal. The study, which included alignment layouts, structural analyses and the planning level bridge structural design,
overcame many geometrical constraints for the approach landing.
